To My Patients,
My philosophy is simple- spend the time to get to know my patients, appreciate their concerns, then honestly convey my opinion whether I can reliably and predictably deliver the desired results.
It is an honor and a privilege to be a Plastic Surgeon. I interact with a wide variety of people: young and old, all genders, and cosmetic and reconstructive. My philosophy pervades through my work and I treat each patient if they were my family member.
I consider our first meeting an interview for both of us. I decide whether to “hire” you just as you are deciding to “hire” me. A connection must be forged, trust established, and levels of expectations aligned. Without these, the outcome will never be successful. I will take as much time as you need to go through all your options, explain the risks and benefits and outline a reasonable plan. I pledge to do so in simple, straightforward, non-medical language so that you (and your support system) understands the plan of care.
I want you to know I enjoy what I do tremendously, and I believe my enthusiasm shows through in my personality and in my work. You must already know this if you are reading this letter, and I want to sincerely thank you for your confidence in me.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey E. Janis, MD, FACS
